13 things mentally strong people don’t do

Mentally strong people have healthy habits. They manage their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors in ways that set them up for success in life. Check out these things that mentally strong people don’t do so that you too can become more mentally strong.

1. They don’t waste time feeling sorry for themselves
Mentally strong people don’t sit around feeling sorry about their circumstances or how others have treated them. Instead, they take responsibility for their role in life and understand that life isn’t always easy or fair.

2. They don’t give away their power
They don’t allow others to control them, and they don’t give someone else power over them. They don’t say things like, “My boss makes me feel bad,” because they understand that they are in control over their own emotions and they have a choice in how they respond.

3. They don’t shy away from change
Mentally strong people don’t try to avoid change. Instead, they welcome positive change and are willing to be flexible. They understand that change is inevitable and believe in their abilities to adapt.

4. They don’t waste energy on things they can’t control
You won’t hear a mentally strong person complaining over lost luggage or traffic jams. Instead, they focus on what they can control in their lives. They recognize that sometimes, the only thing they can control is their attitude.

5. They don’t worry about pleasing everyone
Mentally strong people recognize that they don’t need to please everyone all the time. They’re not afraid to say no or speak up when necessary. They strive to be kind and fair, but can handle other people being upset if they didn’t make them happy.

6. They don’t fear taking calculated risks
They don’t take reckless or foolish risks, but don’t mind taking calculated risks. Mentally strong people spend time weighing the risks and benefits before making a big decision, and they’re fully informed of the potential downsides before they take action.

7. They don’t dwell on the past
Mentally strong people don’t waste time dwelling on the past and wishing things could be different. They acknowledge their past and can say what they’ve learned from it. However, they don’t constantly relive bad experiences or fantasize about the glory days. Instead, they live for the present and plan for the future.

8. They don’t make the same mistakes over and over
Mentally strong people accept responsibility for their behavior and learn from their past mistakes. As a result, they don’t keep repeating those mistakes over and over. Instead, they move on and make better decisions in the future.

9. They don’t resent other people’s success
Mentally strong people can appreciate and celebrate other people’s success in life. They don’t grow jealous or feel cheated when others surpass them. Instead, they recognize that success comes with hard work, and they are willing to work hard for their own chance at success.

10. They don’t give up after the first failure
Mentally strong people don’t view failure as a reason to give up. Instead, they use failure as an opportunity to grow and improve. They are willing to keep trying until they get it right.

11. They don’t fear alone time
Mentally strong people can tolerate being alone and they don’t fear silence. They aren’t afraid to be alone with their thoughts and they can use downtime to be productive. They enjoy their own company and aren’t dependent on others for companionship and entertainment all the time but instead can be happy alone.

12. They don’t feel the world owes them anything
Mentally strong people don’t feel entitled to things in life. They weren’t born with a mentality that others would take care of them or that the world must give them something. Instead, they look for opportunities based on their own merits.

13. They don’t expect immediate results
Whether they are working on improving their health or getting a new business off the ground, mentally strong people don’t expect immediate results. Instead, they apply their skills and time to the best of their ability and understand that real change takes time.

Robert T. Kiyosaki Quotes

“It's not what you say out of your mouth that determines your life,it's what you whisper to yourself that has the most power!”
― Robert T. Kiyosaki

“In school we learn that mistakes are bad, and we are punished for making them. Yet, if you look at the way humans are designed to learn, we learn by making mistakes. We learn to walk by falling down. If we never fell down, we would never walk.”
― Robert T. Kiyosaki, Rich Dad, Poor Dad

“Winners are not afraid of losing. But losers are. Failure is part of the process of success. People who avoid failure also avoid success.”
― Robert T. Kiyosaki, Rich Dad, Poor Dad

Interest vs. Commitment

“There’s a difference between interest and commitment. When you’re interested in something, you do it only when it’s convenient. When you’re committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results.”
- Kenneth H. Blanchard

What are you just interested in and what are you truly committed to? Are your workouts just an interest? Today, accept no excuses, especially those you give yourself. Today you’re not buying “I’m tired,” “I already missed 2 workouts last week,” or “I just don’t have the time.” Today you’re choosing to be committed to yourself, not just interested.

Commitment can be a difficult thing.  When you think of the outcome of keeping a commitment, it's usually a positive result leading to proud, accomplished moments.

So why do we usually choose to be interested in things rather than committed to them?

Remember, you can chose to ignore those lies and believe the truth.  Believe that God has big things in store for you... you just have to believe and have faith.

I want more accomplished moments in my life.  I want to be fully committed to God, my dreams, my marriage, my family, my friends, those in need, and my health.  I don't want to quit.  I don't want to give up.  I want to turn my dreams into reality!

Are you interested in your goals, or are you fully committed? One of the most common complaints among goal setters nowadays is that there’s just not enough time to get to the ones that “really matter.” The real culprit is that most people don’t raise their goals beyond the level of general interest. They’re waiting for a vague time in the future when other things won’t get in the way or when they wrap things up. In other words, when it’s more convenient. And of course, that time never comes, does it? If your goals are truly that important to you, don’t let anything stand in your way. You have the power to say ‘no’ and to set your priorities. Make that commitment and you automatically create an obligation that you’re bound to fulfill.

Dont Quit Poem

DON'T QUIT

(Don’t Quit. A beautiful, timeless treasured poem, I find it very sad and unfortunate that the writer chose to remain anonymous.)

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,

Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow–

You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor’s cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,

How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out–
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit–

It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.

A LEADER’S PORTRAIT BY THE JOHN MAXWELL COMPANY

A LEADER’S PORTRAIT
BY THE JOHN MAXWELL COMPANY
SEPTEMBER 25, 2013

Leaders vary by occupation, personality, and style. There’s no specific formula specifying exactly how to lead well. Still, great leaders throughout history share a common set of characteristics. In this article, we would like to fill in the picture of a leader for you—one quality at a time. The four features listed certainly do not represent a comprehensive list. However, if a leader lacks any one of them, then he or she will be limited in an important respect.

1) Character

Character gives rise to discipline and responsibility. It’s the inward character that enables a person to stand firm. Character is not inherited, nor can it be purchased. It cannot be built instantly, but instead requires years of construction.

Dreamers Rule The World

Dreamers Rule The World
We usually think of dreams as conditions that occur only in sleep.  But you dream every time you think of the past or the future.  Think of what you had for breakfast today and a dream flashes in your mind. For an instant‚ you are living in that dream.

Deliberate Dreamers Are Practical

We often think of the term “dreamer” with a negative connotation.  Dreamers‚ we hear‚ are impractical people.  Dreamers think‚ but they don’t do. The truth is‚ though‚ that the most accomplished individuals who ever lived used the power of dreaming to rule their world.

Because your results are equal to the level of your skills and knowledge, personal development is a crucial key for attaining higher levels success.

A Positive Attitude should Shine

 A Positive Attitude should Shine
One of the quickest and easiest ways to create new and interesting opportunities for yourself is to sport a positive attitude. A positive attitude tells the world that you are a person that believes in themselves and the promise of a better tomorrow. While that might sound a little “hokey,” it is nonetheless true.

Let’s look at it from a different perspective. Who is more likely to achieve their goals in life, the person that is energetic and optimistic about tomorrow, or the person that is sad, defeated and believes that everything is impossible? The answer to this question is pretty clear.

You have the Torch

The subject of what makes up good leadership skills is a topic of great interest. People have been pondering what makes a good leader and a bad leader likely before written history. Great minds throughout history have given great attention to determining what makes one leader an exceptional one and another leader a poor one. In part, this is an issue of perspective, of course, and one’s own political and social biases. However, there are some general points that most people would agree upon regarding what constitutes strong leadership skills.

The Person You Need To Impress To Become Confident

The Person You Need To Impress To Become Confident

In the journey to build self confidence lots of people waste their time and effort trying to impress everyone around them in order to become worthy

The problem with this approach is that:
•  The person assumes that he is worthless unless otherwise proven
•  The person feels worthless whenever he encounters someone new to him
•  The person loses his identity as he tries to please everyone

So how can self confidence be built??

• Never miss a good chance to shut up.

• A remark generally hurts in proportion to its truth.

• Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

How does your life compare to the Chinese Bamboo Tree?

How does your life compare to the Chinese Bamboo Tree?

You take a little Chinese Bamboo Tree seed, plant it, water it, and fertilize it for a whole year, and nothing happens.

The second year you water it and fertilize it, and nothing happens

You continue this process for a couple of years and still nothing happens.
This is so frustrating.
You begin to feel discouraged and on the verge of quitting.

Grow Your Own Seeds

 Grow Your Own Seeds
Perhaps one of the best ways to illustrate the difference between the poor and the rich is by looking at agriculture…

A farmer buys some seeds and all the machinery required to plant, grow and harvest them. Then the farmer spends months of unpaid work and a lot of his money to grow his seeds so that he can harvest later on and finally reap the rewards of all his hard work.

Winners and Losers

WINNERS AND LOSERS

Winners take chances.
Like everyone else they fear failing.

But they refuse to let fear control them.
When life gets rough, they hang in until the going gets better.
